FMCW-RADAR LINEARIZING APPARATUS AND FMCW RADAR HAVING LINEARIZING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To achieve a conservation and miniaturization of a directive coupler by using a stable local oscillator(STALO) connected to a bias port of a mixer. CONSTITUTION: A DC power source 38 is connected to a bias port 42 of a mixer 181 through a low pass filter(LPF) 40. A stable local oscillator(STALO) 44 with the frequency in the order of 8. 95GHz is connected to a bias port 46 through a high pass filter(HPF) 36. The tenth harmonic of the frequency of the STALO 44 is 8.95GHz. With a mixer 181, the frequency of a voltage control oscillator(VCO) 10, a feedback signal to be received and the frequency of the STALO 44 are mixed harmoniously to generate 1MHzRIF and 500MHzLIF as necessary output. The 1MHzRIF and 500MHzLIF are processed by BPFs 22 and 36 being separated from other outputs attributed to the mixing. The coupling coefficient of the directive coupler is reduced sufficiently to minimize an output taken out of the STALO 44 thereby minimizing the loss of an rf signal to be received from an antenna 14.
