The internal expanding drum brake (1) for vehicles has a brake bracket plate (2) fixed to the vehicle's wheel support. Along the plate's outer periphery is a collar (3) rotating and pointing towards the brake drum. Brake shoes (7) are pressed against the brake drum and mounted on the brake bracket plate. Supports (8) and/or controls (9) for the brake shoes are fixed to the brake bracket plate which consists of at least two parts (4,5) - a thick part (4) fixed to the wheel support, and a thinner outer one (5) containing the rotary collar. ADVANTAGE - When the brake is applied, no or very little noise occurs.
