A lid for a container, said lid having an aperture therein, said aperture being adapted to allow an implement handle to pass through the lid, the aperture being provided with gripping means to retain the implement handle therein, the gripping means comprising a flange which surrounds the implement handle, characterised in that the end of the flange which is distant from the lid is crimped toward the axis of the flange, said flange being resiliently deformable by the passage of the implement handle therethrough so that the crimped end of the flange is opened away from the axis of the flange, the resilience of the flange causing the crimped end of the flange to close about the implement handle to resist further movement of the implement handle relative to the lid. |
