PURPOSE:To provide a method of detecting failure of sensor for detecting operation quantity of such as stroke as well as operation force of a brake operation member at the time of non-braking operation, in an electrically controlling brake device. CONSTITUTION:In an electrically controlling brake device, if the output voltage of stepping force sensor 82 is beyond a set level in consideration of characteristic change of sensor itself or variation in the conditions of atmosphere such as temperature, it is judged that the sensor 82 has failed. Failure of a stroke sentor is also can be detected similarly. |
