PURPOSE: To fix a broken bone in a stationary position without using wire. CONSTITUTION: An absorptive bone pin 50 is inserted in a stationary position by an applicator 10 that serves to bore a hole 44 for the bone pin and to accurately measure its depth. The applicator 10 has a graduated recess 20 for measuring the progress (depth) of a wire type drill 30. The drill 30 has a marked line 36 for indicating graduations. The bone pin 50 is cut to match the depth of the hole 44 and is inserted in the stationary position by a push rod 52. The applicator has a guide tube. By using a double-tube applicator, a bone piece can be more stably held in the stationary position under compression until the bone pin is attached. |
