<p>An air pressure control system regulates vehicle tire inflation pressure. The system includes a hollow stem (15) having an outer end, to which is connected an outer tire stem valve (19), and an inner end to which is connected an inner tire stem valve (21). The inner valve (21) is inverted with respect to the outer valve (19). A hollow axisymmetric skirt (24) is connected to a bellows (30) and a stem (15). Under low pressures spring (35) pushes skirt (24) inwardly for the tire causing button (23) of valve (21) to compress spring (34) which in turn opens valve (21) to allow inflation. Upon reaching appropriate pressures, bellows (30) expands forcing skirt (24) outwardly of the tire releasing opening force on valve (21) which then closes preventing overinflation.</p> |
