<p>PURPOSE: To provide a vehicular safety bag simple in structure, light in weight, small, high in reliability and safety capable of quickly generating a larger quantity of gas by exothermic reaction in emergency and generating substantially no by-product having the possibility of exerting danger in the gas. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus to unfold a safety bag 12, the safety bag can be protected from damage causable in the initial stage of the expansion by generating gas by exothermix reaction by igniting a liquid propellant 52 in a reaction chamber by expelling the liquid propellant to the reaction chamber 14 through ports 58 from a storage reservoir 32 by opening a sealing means by pressurizing the liquid propellant with the reaction chamber 14 connected so as to communicate a flow of fluid with the safety bag, the plurality of ports 58 to communicate with the reaction chamber, the storage reservoir 32 having the pressure sensitive sealing means to normally close the ports and the liquid propellant 52 stored in the storage reservoir.</p> |
