PURPOSE: To mechanically form a cured block in a desired shape of a mandrel by immersing a graphite felt block with a polymerizable product for generating a carbon, and then curing it by heating the block to a high temperature in a neutral atmosphere to thermally decompose the product. CONSTITUTION: At the time of applying a layer of perpendicularly crossed and superposed fibers to a mandrel, a needle or the like is inserted to surfaces of the fibers, and maintained at an accurate position. It is durable against a high temperature of about 400 deg.C. In an oxidative atmosphere. Further, at the time of applying the superposed layers, it has a sufficient mechanical strength durable against a deformation to the force applied thereto (mainly to a bent of a periphery). |
