Refrigerated container for already prepared aircraft meals - uses cold air stream to dissipate heat from coolant fed through pipe system

The storage space (2) is enclosed by a closed pipe loop system (8), through which coolant is passed. The heat transferred from the storage space to the coolant is dissipated via a collection vessel (9) for the coolant contained within a separate compartment (4) through which a cold air stream is passed. The collection vessel (9) is coupled to a heat conductive battery (14) lying in the cold air stream, heat dissipation being maintained upon interruption of the latter by the thermo syphon principle. The refrigerated container is pref. provided as a wheeled trolley. USE - Maintaining freshness of pre-prepared aircraft meals.
