Feathering control for motorised glider - has sprung thrust plate about propeller hub to move axially via bearing thruster

The propeller hub on a powered glider has a spring loaded member fitted with four sprung shafts (5) and a thrust plate (3) which rotates with the prop. The thrust plate is moved axially by a bearing thruster (1) at the end of a mechanical linkage. This moves the blades from normal pitch to feathering, for gliding. The feathering control is operated by a Bowden cable and a control lever in the cockpit. The lever is held in the feathering position by a catch. When released, the linkage is moved into the pitch position by the shaft springs. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simpler mechanical linkage, simple control.
