发明名称 PASSIVE COOLING SAFETY SYSTEM FOR LIQUID- METAL COOLED ATOMIC REACTOR
摘要 PURPOSE: To remove decay heat under bad conditions by providing a concrete silo for forming an innermost nuclear reactor vessel, a second partition wall accommodation vessel, and intermediate area, and two fluid flow heat exchangers. CONSTITUTION: The passive cooling safety system 48' is interposed between a baffle 36 and an accommodation vessel 24 and extends in the vicinity of the lower end of the nuclear reactor vessel 12 and the accommodation vessel 24 through a intermediate space 34 so as to form one concentrically disposed fluid flow circuit 58. The circuit 58 includes a central inner pipe or a duct 60 for introducing downward a cooling material along the length of the vessel 12 and a duct 62 for returning upward the cooling material disposed around the dust 60. The duct 60 communicates with a downward flow duct 40, and the outer pipe 62 communicates with an upward flow duct 62. Accordingly, an air cooling material sucked from outside air into the duct 40 is taken in the inner pipe 60 of the circuit 58 and falls down along the inner pipe 60 and, subsequently, it changes the direction to flow in the outer pipe 62 for removing heat from the vessel 12, then, it passes through the duct 42 and is discharged to the atmosphere.
