PURPOSE:To improve the workability for expanding spiral pipe diametrically by a method wherein spiral pipe is diametrically expanded so as to be brought into contact with the inner surface of existing pipe by releasing the mutual engagement between the side edge parts of band-like body under the condition that a holding pipe is fitted to the tip part of the spiral pipe, which is made of the bank-like body and extends beyond the existing pipe, and, in addition, thrusting force is applied to the band-like body. CONSTITUTION:The tip part of spiral pipe 10' is extended beyond existing pipe 81. A conical holding pipe 61 is fitted to the tip part under the condition that the respective side edge parts of band-like body 10 can slide mutually and yet the holding pipe 61 is integrally fixed to the tip of the spiral pipe 10'. And, thrusting force is applied to the band-like body 10 so as to rotate and, at the same time, strong engaged stage of the respective side edge parts of the bank-like body 10 of the spiral pipe 10' is successively disengaged. As a result, a fixing bar 62 checks the rotation and advancement of the holding pipe 61 and accordingly the rotation and advancement of the tip of the spiral pipe 10' are checked, resulting in successively and diametrically expanding the spiral pipe 10'. Thus, the workability for expanding spiral pipe 10' diametrically is improved. |
