The description relates to a process for producing ergolin derivatives of the general formula (I) in which ..... represents two single bonds or a double and a single bond; R1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group with 1-6 carbon atoms; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group with 1-6 carbon atoms; R3 is a carboxyl group or a grouping of the formula: -CONR4R5 or -NHCQNR6R7 where R4 and R5 are hydrogen or an alkyl radical, possibly substituted by a hydroxy group, with 1-6 carbon atoms and R6 and R7 are an alkyl group containing 1-4 carbon atoms and Q is an oxygen or sulphur atom.
