<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an electric power steering device capable of discriminating a motor lock and abnormalities in motor current even after an electromagnetic clutch is engaged. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a steering wheel input shaft 52, a torque transmission shaft 1 connected to the steering wheel input shaft 52, and a motor 57 for transmitting rotational torque to the torque transmission shaft 1. The control part 10 of the motor 57 increases and decreases current of the motor 56 according to an output from a vehicle speed sensor 54 and a torque sensor 53. Also, the control part 10 judges whether or not the difference in outputs from the torque sensors 53, 4, is within a specified normal range and, if it is not within that range, it turns off the motor 56 and electromagnetic clutch 55.</p> |
