PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of analysis responsive to rapid reaction and strong color formation by providing a test layer containing hydrophobic polymer uniformly mixed with volatile difficult liquid immiscible with water and having liquid durable organic phase. CONSTITUTION: The test carrier for ion measurement comprises a test layer containing volatile difficult hydrophobic organic liquid, liquid durable organic phase containing hydrophobic polymer mixed uniformly with ionophore and substance varying in color in the presence of the ionophore and having particles of 80 to 200 of oil absorption value. To measure ion in blood, the sample is applied to a protective layer. The blood is infused into a separate layer 3, blood vessel is separated from plasma or serum, and obtained liquid is absorbed into a testing area 8. The aqueous phase in a moving layer 2 is brought into contact with a film layer 1 by the pressing on a carrier wheel having the film layer 1, liquid is infused into the film layer, and measurement reaction takes place. The color formed in the film layer obtained by the reaction is measured visually or reflectivity photometric method via the carrier wheel of the layer 1.
