A drug delivery composition and method of administering in which the composition contains at least one peptide and at least one second component which is adapted to support the peptide upon the application of energy to the composition, wherein the rate at which the drug is released from the composition may be controlled and/or the drug may be delivered to a particular or targeted area of the body.
