The universal rolling mill for rolling metal sections has two rollers (2) mounted with their axes horizontal. The mill also has two rollers (3) mounted with their axes vertical. These vertical rollers are driven from an electric motor with a stator (4b) which is formed by the collar (4a) of the supporting shaft (4) of the roller (3). This supporting shaft (4) is stationary and is rigidly mounted in the housing (8). The roller (3) thus forms the rotor of the electric motor (5).
