<p>PURPOSE: To provide an advanced electrical terminal pin having a compliant part adapted to be inserted into a plated through hole of a circuit board or its analogue. CONSTITUTION: An electrical terminal pin 10 is adapted for insertion into a plated through hole 36 of a circuit board. In this case, the terminal pin 10 made of a stamping molded metal member includes paired parts 12 applicable to be brought into contact with an electrical conductive element, and a compliant part 14 applicable to establish electrical contact with a conductive plated material defining an inside surface of the plated through hole 36. The compliant part 14 is generally formed of a W-shaped curved cross-section configured in such a manner that a W-shaped external leg 22 is brought into lateral contact with the inside surface of the plated through hole 36. In one embodiment, the compliant part 14 has substantially the same thickness, and the W-shaped external leg 22 is substantially shorter than its central portion 20.</p> |
