<p>PURPOSE: To increase a number of signal contacts per unit area and lessen the distortion of signals by providing the signal contacts in a supporter comprising a strip-shaped elastic conductor used as an earth contact through the medium of an insulative intermediate layer having a proper thickness. CONSTITUTION: A contact assembly 1 has a supporting material 2 comprising a strip-shaped elastic conductor, an insulating intermediate layer 3, a conductor 4 and contact faces 5 and 6 on the intermediate layer 3. The contact face 5 forming a signal contact face is connected to the conductor 4, and the contact face 6 forming an earth contact face is connected to the supporting material 2 by plating. When the supporting material 2 is used in a connector 7, a contact button 10 of the contact faces 5 and 6 forming projections makes contact with a corresponding contact face of a printed board 11. Moreover, the conductor 4 connected to a contact pin 12 in the middle of the supporting material 2 is inserted into a through hole of the printed board 15 together with an earthing pin 14, and then connected to the circuit on the board 15.</p> |
