PURPOSE: To assure a clean and uniform metal bond by a method wherein, before a draw-out conductor is welded, a predetermined contact position is exposed to a heat source and then to a compressed gas injection flow. CONSTITUTION: A predetermined contact position of a leading lug of an electrode section or band-like electrode already forming a leading conductor based on a porous metal frame is heated before the leading lug is welded. Subsequently, a compressed air blast removes active material altered by a thermal effect in the porous metal. Therefore, this pretreatment method can assure a clean and uniform metal bond. It is desirable that a punch, a laser beam or an induction heating apparatus is used as a heat source for heat decomposition in order to heat the contact position to the temperature range of 300 to 550 deg.C. |
