PURPOSE: To provide an electrically heatable flexible transparent window member particularly used in a rear window of a soft top car in order to ensure very high transparency. CONSTITUTION: A heating grid of a window member has several heating lines 1 running in parallel. These heating lines juxtaposed at uniform intervals are woven into several supporting lines 2 and 3 running perpendicularly to the heating lines. After heating, free ends are connected to a feeder line 4. At least some of the supporting lines is made electrically and thermally conductive, and the other supporting lines are made non-conductive. The conductive supporting lines are brought into conductive contact with the heating lines at an intersection point 5. Thus, the heating grid formed as above described has a line diameter of about 0.035mm and a mesh width of about 0.7mm. Thereby, an electrically heatable window member is inexpensively produced which is characterized by unified constant heating ability and excellent permeability. |
