PURPOSE: To attain laser radiation with several wavelengths by a pump source having a single wavelength by using an upper conversion processing for operating the absorption and excitation of low-energy infrared-ray pumped photon. CONSTITUTION: A laser pump source 25 is constituted of a semiconductor infrared laser operating at 797nm. A laser rod 35 includes laser mirrors 40 and 45 as dielectric coating on spherical surfaces 42 and 47, and this is constituted of YL (F4 ; Er5%) manufactured in a monolithic structure, and attached to a helium cooler 50. The laser mirror 40 has high reflectivity with upper conversion wavelengths 669nm, 551nm, and 470nm, and high transmissivity with pump wavelength 780-820nm. The laser mirror 45 has transmissivity with the 1-10% range of the upper conversion wavelength, for providing a means for outputting a laser beam from a laser 20. Therefore, a red, green, and blue upper conversion laser pumped by the infrared laser source with single wavelength can be obtained. |
