PURPOSE: To prepare the developer which is useful for making copies, color proofs, digital color proofs and lithographic printing plates and also, for forming resists, etc. CONSTITUTION: This positive-charged developer consists essentially of: (A) a nonpolar liquid that has a Kauri-butanol value of <30 and occupies a major portion of the developer; (B) thermoplastic resin particles having a <10μm area average particle size; (C) a charge control agent compound; and (D) at least one inorganic acid that has a >=0.5wt.% solubility in the mixture of the nonpolar liquid (A) and the charge control agent compound (C) based on the weight of the charge control agent compound (C) and is represented by the formula Hx Y wherein: (x) is an integer of 1 to 4 and equal to the number of charge of an anion Y; and Y is an anion selected from Cl-, F<-> , NO3 <-> , NO3 <-> , PO4 <-> , SO4 <2> , SO3 <-2> ClO4 <-> and IO4 <-> .
