PURPOSE: To keep a patient from feeling discomfort when a treatment continues for a long time or when the patient is sensitive, or both. CONSTITUTION: An applicator coil 10 having a substantially elliptical cross section with major and minor axes, for an electromagnetic treatment device, is usable in treating the trunk of the human body with a low-frequency alternating field. The cross section of the applicator coil 10 is asymmetrical with respect to the major axis, and particularly its upper part is curved with a higher curvature than its lower part. The applicator coil 10 is formed to be substantially further comfortable to the patient under treatment as compared with an applicator of the prior art which has a circular or elliptical cross section that is symmetrical. |
