PROCESS AND INSTALLATION FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A RIBBON FROM AT LEAST ONE FIBRE IMPREGNATED WITH A THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER

The ribbon (1'') is obtained by controlled sheathing of the fibre (1) by the thermoplastic polymer, then passing the fibre thus sheathed (1') between two rollers (6, 7) flattening the fibre (1') while the polymer is in its plastic state. This is obtained either by heating the rollers or, preferably, by subjecting the polymer to the action of ultrasound during its passage between the two rollers.
