PURPOSE: To sustain an AC voltage quickly even when a capacitor is connected with the AC terminal of a power converter connected with DC and AC power supplies and a transmission network is disconnected. CONSTITUTION: A control and gate circuit 30 is connected with a converter 10 in order to supply a control signal to the thyristor 11 of a converter bridge included in a polyphase converter. When the transmission network of power company is interrupted, a control loop operating at a relatively high rate is connected with a control gate circuit. The control loop is adapted to the power supply characteristics of the converter for sustaining an output voltage of substantially constant amplitude between AC terminals in response to the current flowing through a capacitor 24 and an AC voltage reference. A second control loop operating at a relatively low rate is also connected through a high rate operation control loop with a control gate circuit and regulates the voltage between AC terminals during steady state in response to the AC voltage of the capacitor and the AC voltage across a load. |
