PURPOSE: To provide a computer system recovering a commit procedure in which a fault is generated and a method therefor. CONSTITUTION: A first recovery facility 70 A collects synchronizing point state information including data storage places and protected conversations and compares the information. When a fault and the recovery procedure of the second execution environment succeeding to the fault are completed the second recovery facility working for this second execution environment notifies the first recovery facility 70 A of the effect. The first recovery facility 70 A is manually started when the facility has a fault that actually synchronizing point state information can not be received and is capable of receiving the response of synchronizing point information to be automatically simulated. The first recovery facility 70 A responds to this simulated synchronizing point information and advances a recovery operation as if the facility 70 A substantially receives actual synchronizing point state information.
