PURPOSE: To provide a high-modulus monofilament yarn that is highly intermingled, very smooth and free from pills and its production method. CONSTITUTION: This relates to an intermingled multifilament yarn comprising high-modulus monofilaments made for example of aramide, carbon or glass fibers and its production method. The multifilaments are intermingled with an intermingling medium, particularly with air. The intermingling temperature is (0.25-0.9)×Tn , preferably (0.5-0.9)×Tn (Tn in deg.C is the melting or decomposition point of the high modulus mono-filament). The whole linear density of the multifilament yarn is 500-4,000 dtex, preferably 700-3,000 dtex. This multifilament yarn may be co-intermingled yarn comprising partially only high-modulus monofilaments and the rest may be thermoplastic monofilaments of a low initial modulus. |
