1,079,286. Injection moulding; blow moulding; presses. GEIMUPLAST PETER MUNDT KOMM GES. Dec. 21, 1964 [Dec. 31, 1963], No. 51849/64. Headings B5A and B5F. [Also in Division F2] An injection mould 27, 28, a blow mould or a press is closed by means of a large diameter worm 1 engaging with at least two racks 2, 3 connected to a platen 17 carrying the mould part 28. An additional closing pressure is applied by an hydraulic piston 6 on which the worm 1 is rotatably mounted. The hydraulic pressure is supplied through a check valve 9, 10 from a conduit 12 leading to a cylinder 13. A piston 14 in cylinder 13 is connected threugh connecting rods 32, 33 to an axially reciprocable injection screw 26. The check valve 9, 10 prevents release of piston 6 when pressure in cylinder 13 is relieved. The mould therefore remains locked until a pin 34 carried by piston 14 opens the check valve. Drive to the worm 1 and screw 26 is through V-belts 4 and 24 respectively. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown), the worm 1 acts directly on the rods 32, 33, and the hydraulic piston acts directly on the injection screw. |
