PURPOSE:To avert the sticking of dust on insulating materials in installation work etc., prevent the degradation in insulation owing to the staining of insulation materials, and make possible the detection of the leakage of the coolant Na of a fast breeder reactor etc. with high reliability by covering the circumfernces of electrodes and insulation materials with metallic foils. CONSTITUTION:Corrosion resistant conductors 3 of stainless steel or the like are disposed into a multiplicity of insulation materials 1 which have two through-holes 2 in the axial direction of the cylinder and are made of ceramics or the like, through said holes 2, and the surfaces of the materials 1 are covered with metallic foils 4, such as Cu foils, which are corroded by reacting with O2 and moisture in air when Na leaks. The two conductors 3 are connected to a power source 5 and a detecting means A. A multiplicity of such detecting bodies are disposed to the parts to be detected of Na cooling pipes etc. When the foils 4 are corroded by the leaking Na and the spaces between conductors 3 are short-circuited by Na, the detector emits a signal. Normally, they are protected by the foils 4, thus there is no degradation or the like of the materials 1 and the reliability is enhanced. |
