PURPOSE: To obtain a steady flow ink transport system in which the hydrostatic gauge pressure is made zero on each free surface of an ink body by providing input and output manifolds with a plurality of openings corresponding to a plurality of dischargers combined with the free surface and connecting the corresponding openings through a lateral duct coupled with the discharger. CONSTITUTION: A discharger combined with an ink body having free surfaces 13 is arranged in parallel with input and output manifolds 10, 11 for supplying and discharging ink, respectively. The manifolds are provided with openings 18, 19 corresponding to the plurality of free surfaces 13 and a lateral duct 12 is disposed between corresponding openings 18, 19. The input manifold 10 equalizes the fluid resistance between adjacent openings 18. The output manifold 11 equalizes the fluid resistance between adjacent openings 19 and between the openings 18, 19. The fluid resistance is equalized for all lateral ducts 12 and the dimensions of the manifolds 10, 11 are preferably set larger than the cross-section of lateral duct 12. |
