PURPOSE: To obtain an efficient auxiliary power system by providing a battery and connecting the output node thereof with a battery charging circuit and an overdischarge preventing circuit. CONSTITUTION: The power system comprises a battery 12 for feeding preliminary power upon interruption of AC voltage supply from an AC power supply 14. The battery 12 has a positive electrode connected with node N2 which is connected with an overdischarge preventing circuit means 15. When the voltage level at the node N2 reaches a preset level, the overdischarge preventing circuit means 15 disconnects the battery 12 from a load 10. A battery charging voltage generating means 20 comprises a battery voltage feedback circuit means 30 which regulates the voltage to reduce power consumption of a battery charging circuit means 28.
