PURPOSE: To provide a device for temporarily axially immobilizing a shaft in a casing tube. CONSTITUTION: A shaft 2 carries a collar 10, and the collar 10 is provided with a circumferential rib 14 and fixed to the shaft 2. A lock element is fitted to an opening of the shaft 2, and the rib 14 is held between two radial lip parts 18 and 19 carried by the lock element 16. The lip parts 18 and 19 are suitably shaped and cooperate with a cam formed on the collar 10 for facilitating the removal of the lock element 16 under the effect of the rotation of the shaft 2.
