METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CHANGING EMPHASIZING CHARACTERISTIC

PURPOSE: To provide the data processing system and a method therefor for editing the document which is stored as the character string of a structured document and is displayed as the text of WYSIWYG form and to change the emphasis characteristic of the mark area of the test of the WYSIWYG form located in the master concept structure of the document. CONSTITUTION: An emphasis menu 120 showing the emphasis form which is effective for the master concept structure of a characteristic and showing what emphasis form exists in a mark area is displayed. The emphasis form can be deleted from the mark area and the existing display corresponding to the form can be eliminated from the emphasis menu 120. The emphasis form can be added to the mark area and the existing display corresponding to the emphasis form added to the mark area can be displayed within the emphasis menu 120. Even if a user does not have the detailed knowledge of a document structure, the emphasis characteristic of a structured document can be edited so as to be easily changed.
