<p>PURPOSE: To efficiently produce high purity nitrogen and a co-product oxygen by combining a variable capacity storage tank with a PSA system at a specified volume of the stream of both, controlling PSA circulation according to the variable tank requirement condition. CONSTITUTION: A bed A and a bed B receive sequence indicated by a circulation rate in a two-bed PSA system, one bed is reduced in pressure for recovering product nitrogen, and the other bed is repressurized to selectively adsorb additional amount of nitrogen from feed air to recover co-product gas of oxygen. In this case, a specific blow-down (the bed A in process 1, bed B in process 6), purge (the bed A in processes 2, 3, bed B in processes 7, 8), repressurizing (the bed A in processes 6, 7, bed B in processes 1, 2), and reverse flow (the bed A in processes 8, 9, bed B in processes 3, 4) are controlled in this sequence. Thus, an accurate control reduces the power consumption and saves energy.</p> |
