PURPOSE: To provide an excellent food preserving material by providing a multilayer structure having an oxygen permeability of less than 5 ml/m<2> /day/ atmosphere and covered with a film doped with a dopant, thereby enhancing barrier characteristics as a packaged article. CONSTITUTION: A polymer substrate is covered with a glass-like film of SiO doped with one type or more of metal selected from the group consisting of As, Al, Cr, Co, Cu, In, Fe, Pb, Mn, Sn, Ti, W, Zn, and Zr to form a multilayer structure. The structure has an oxygen transmittance of 5 ml/m<2> /day/atmosphere or less. Specifically, the substrate 4 is sequentially covered with an SiO2 layer 6 vacuum deposited on the substrate 4, and an SiO2 8 vacuum deposited, a protective layer 10 made suitably of an adhesive plastic resin is provided at an outside to form a multilayer structure 2. The substrate is adapted to a polyester or polyamide film. Further, it suitably has a mean roughness of 50 nm or less of surface smoothness. |
