<p>PURPOSE:To remove mercury in simple operation from a liquid hydrocarbon containing various forms of mercury. CONSTITUTION:A liquid hydrocarbon containing mercury is subjected to heat treatment at >=90 deg.C to evaporate the hydrocarbon and the resultant gaseous ingredient is brought into contact in the gaseous state with an adsorbent containing a heavy metal sulfide. The adsorbent containing the heavy metal sulfide is preferably a substance mainly containing sulfide of molybdenum.</p> |
