PURPOSE: To insure an improved cryogenic air separation system by producing pressurized product gas while producing also liquid. CONSTITUTION: A turboexpanded first part 204 is cooled with indirect heat exchange through a heat exchanger 202, and the cooled and turboexpanded first part is fed into a first tower 105 as a flow 206. A second part 103 of the compressed feed air is cooled by completely traversing a condenser 101, is provided to a second turboexpander 102 and is turboexpanded to a pressure generally ranging within 60 to 100 psia. Turboexpanded air 104 is introduced into the first tower 105 operated generally at a pressure ranging from 60 to 100 psia.
