METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PURIFYING WASTE GAS CONTAINING DUST AND CONTAMINATED SUBSTANCE

PURPOSE: To purify exhaust gases by eliminating dust as well as pollutants by purifying by a mass separator in a dry condition, then electrostatically purifying in an electrostatic precipitator. CONSTITUTION: Dust- and pollutant-containing exhaust gases are introduced into a first stage 1 from the horizontal direction as indicated by an arrow, and subjected to a dry purification in a mass separator. Separated dry dust is collected in a funnel-like bottom part 1' and discharged from a lock chamber 1". The exhaust gases after the dry purification is introduced from the lock chamber 1" to a second stage 2 which is provided with collecting electrodes 3 wetted with liquid and corona electrodes 4 electrically insulated by pin insulators 19. Pollutant-containing liquid flows on the surface of the collecting electrodes 3 to be collected in a collecting trough 8. The dry dust separated in the second stage is collected by a dust collecting device 5 to be discharged from a discharge device 6. Hot gas 21 is injected into a dead space between the collecting electrodes 3 and a housing wall 9 through a hot gas feed line 22, purified and discharged.
