<p>PURPOSE: To provide a film suitable for making medical solution pouches characterized by high mechanical strength. CONSTITUTION: An impact resistant film 1 comprises an inner layer 12 of a polyolefin such as an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene methyl acrylate copolymer, very low density polyethylene or blends thereof, and an outer layer 14 of a high melt flow propylene homopolymer or copolymer. At least one of the outer layers 14 also includes an elastomer such as styrene ethylene butylene styrene copolymer. A flexible copolyester can be substituted for one of the high melt flow polymer layer. Additional inner layer 12 can also be incorporated in the film structure.</p> |
