PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst having an excellent filterability, activity and selectivity to a trans-isomer. CONSTITUTION: This alumina-supported nickel catalyst promoted by sulfur has an atomic S/Ni ratio of between 0.06 and 0.10, an atomic Ni/Al ratio of between 2 and 10, and a particle size distribution, defined as (d90 -d10 )/d50 , of between 0.4 and 1.5, d50 being 4 to 20μm. |
