PURPOSE: To obtain a high barrier heat sealable packaging material by providing a heat sealable layer covered with a predetermined pattern of a part of either one overall surface of a polymer material film and a metal layer. CONSTITUTION: One surface of a base material layer 12 made of a polyester film or the like is covered with a metal layer 14 by a known vapor depositing method, and the layer 12 is metallized. A print layer 16 is printed on one surface of either of the film layers 12, 14 by a gravure printing method or the like. Then, one or both side surfaces of the layer 12 is covered with layers 18, 19 made of a fusion bonding heat sealable material such as an ethylvinyl-acetate copolymer or the like by aligning with the layer 16 in a predetermined pattern to obtain a barrier material for forming a sheathing lap 10 of a cigarette package. The layer 12 is suitably a single layer or a multilayer film of a polyethylene terephthalate executed by a heat stabilizing treatment. As the metal for matellizing, Zn, Ni, Ag, Al or the like is used. |
