BONE FIXING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To provide a bone fixing apparatus which allows quantitative measurement of generation degree of a callus while imposing no burden on a patient during an inspection to provide the bone fixing apparatus with a function of measuring the generation degree of the callus. CONSTITUTION:A second bar member 3 is inserted slidably into a cylindrical first bar member 2 and a stopper 13 for preventing slippage of an end of the bar member 3 is fixed at the end of the bar member 2. A screw 15 is formed at the end of the bar member 2 and a sensor 16 and a stopper 22 for fixing are mounted alternately at the portion of the screw 15. The bar members 2 and 3 are connected to bones A and A and both the bar members 2 and 3 are fixed immovably with the stopper 22. Hence, the bones A and B can be fixed to generate a callus B at an affected part. The stopper 22 is replaced with the sensor 16 and when a compression force is applied to the bones in a direction of a bone axis, the sensor 16 detects a deformation of the callus by the compression force thereby enabling the determination of a degree of generation of the callus B utilizing a value of the deformation.
