PURPOSE:To provide an element sintering method by which characteristic non- uniformities between elements or within an individual element are not created when sintering during the production of ZnO voltage non-linear resistor elements and which enhances the long wave tail surge resistance amount. CONSTITUTION:In the production process for voltage non-linear resistor elements, when the molded unit is being sintered, an appropriate number of openings 3 are formed in the surface of the sheath casing 2 which contains the molded unit and the percentage of the area of opening 3 to the entire sheath casing 2 surface is set at 51-90%.
