PURPOSE:To form an optical fiber which has the small fluctuation of a diameter in the longitudinal direction of the fiber and which is excellent in uniformity and to improve a trouble at the time of high-order processing and the defect of high-order processed goods. CONSTITUTION:The plastic optical fiber 3 is welded and spinned by welding and discharging a material from a spinning nozzle 1 where plural discharge holes are arranged in a line, making the cooling air 2 blow it out from a direction orthogonally crossed with a discharge hole arranging direction, and cooling and solidifying it. Furthermore, a fan 14a or an obliquely upward honeycomb is provided on the front surface of a chimney screen 13 so that the cooling air 2' may be obliquely upward and cooling at the upstream side part of the chimney may be strengthened. |
