PURPOSE:To improve the balance between abrasion resistance and resistance to damage by compounding a base polymer comprising a natural or a synthetic rubber, a filler component contg. carbon black, and an epoxy resin. CONSTITUTION:A filler component is prepd. by compounding 50% or higher carbon black with required amts. of silica and other fillers. 100 pts.wt. base polymer comprising a natural or a synthetic rubber, the filler component in such an amt. as to contain 30-65 pts.wt. carbon black, 2-10 pts.wt. epoxy resin, and other necessary additives are compounded to give the title compd. |
