The drum is for composting organic, animal and plant waste prods., and the broken-down material is placed in the hollow prism through the open hatches. The drum is then rotated extremely slowly by a gear motor at a speed of 0.1 - 0.5 rev/min. so that the compost is correctly mixed. A blower and ventilation slots provide for the input of air oxygen. In 24 hours, the temp. rises to 60 - 75 deg. C. due to the rotting process, so that pathogenic germs, worm eggs and salmonella are all killed. Per day, the drum is rotated 10 - 20 revolutions, until the rotting process is completed, and the temp. has dropped below 40 deg. C. The compost is then unloaded from the drug.
