ULTRASONIC TYPE IN-LINE AIR DETECTION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING ACCOM- PANYING AIR FOR MEDICINE INJECTION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To provide in-line air detecting device and its detecting method for detecting the existence of air bubbles accompanied by a fluid in a fluid line in a medicine injection system. CONSTITUTION: Disclosed is an ultrasonic in-line air detecting device used for detecting accompanying air bubbles in a fluid line of a throw-away cassette installed in a main pump unit. This device can accurately detect accompanying air bubbles no matter whether a fluid is transparent or opaque and regardless of a fluid type. This device adopts multi-windowing and air volume number weighing method to determine the occurrence of counting threshold of accompanying air in a designated number of windows of fed material, and give a warning only when the threshold count of the air bubbles exists in the multi-window capacity. The device of the present invention detects accompanying air and removes generally called rough warning.
