WORGANIC BODY CARRIED CATALYST FOR PRODUCING ETHYLIDENEDIACETATE, ITS MANUFACTURE AND MANUFACTURE OF ETHYLIDENEDIACETATE USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: To provide an inorganic support catalyst for preparation of ethylidene diacetate to facilitate to separate ethylidene diacetate product therefrom and preparation of the catalyst and preparation of ethylidene diacetate using it. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst is expressed by a general formula; Ma S where M is a compound selected from RhCl3 .xH2 O and RhCl(CO) [P(C6 H5 )3 ]2 ; S is the inorganic support selected fromγ-alumina, activated carbon, silica, TiO2 MgO and ZnO; (a) is a weight ratio of a metal in the catalyst. The catalyst is prepared by adding M and S into distillated water, followed by heating at 50-100 deg.C, followed by precipitating, and followed by drying at 90-150 deg.C. By reacting methyl acetate, iodomethane, carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a promoter at 90-250 deg.C and at 20-70 atm, ethylidene diacetate is prepared.
