摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To make possible the direct feed rolling of a continuously cast ingot and hot charging by stably retaining the heat at the side parts of the ingot which are likely to cool at the time of drawing out the continuously cast ingot by means of guide rollers. CONSTITUTION:At the time of drawing out a slablike continuously cast ingot 4 from a mold and conveying the same by means of guide rollers, both side face parts which are most likely to cool are insulated of heat so that the cooling of the ingot partially at different temperatures and consequent infeasibility of direct feed rolling and hot charing are prevented. In order to prevent the side part cooling of this ingot, a heat insulating plate 8 lined with a heat insulating material 8C of asbestors, ceramic fibers, etc. is installed to the side parts of the ingot 4. The plate 8 is supported movably forward and backward by a sliding supporting device 9. A contact projection 10 is provided to the plate 8 to maintain the side face 4a of the ingot through contact with the side face 4a of the ingot 4 at a prescribed gap, whereby the cooling of the ingot gap (t) between the inside surface 8x of the plate 8 and the side parts is controlled definitely and the entire part of the ingot is insulated at a uniform temp., thence it is shifted to the next process.</p>
